Feedstock
Pyrolysis can be done on any dry organic material.
In most applications, pyrolysis is done on biogenic feedstock:
- Clean Wood (chips, pellets, sawdust…)
- Demolition wood
- Agricultural residue (corn stover, sunflower shells…)
- Harvest residue (husks, straw…)
- Sludge
- …
Non biogenic feedstock as tires, rubber, plastic, are also appropriate. Thermal treatment can also be done on inorganic products for calcination applications.

As the composition of these feedstock is very different from each other, the quantity and properties of the pyrolysis products will vary accordingly.
